In my early twenties, I led a marketing initiative at Magna International that saved the company over $40 million in two years. That success taught me something more valuable than any title: I needed to guide my own ship.
So I gave up an excellent, very promising corporate career and jumped into the deep waters of real estate. No safety net beyond the runway I had saved, and a conviction that with enough passion and drive I could build something exceptional. Homes were always my first love anyway. As a child I was the one studying floor plans and noticing architecture everywhere we went.
My first listing came from my best friend, who trusted me with the sale of their beautiful detached home. We sold it quickly, and I have never forgotten what that trust felt like. Twenty years later, that is still the entire business model: earn trust so completely that clients come back for decades and send the people they love.
The goal has never been the one commission. I tell clients not to sell all the time, when the timing is wrong or the math does not serve them. What I am building is different: I want to be the person you reach out to any time you have a real estate question, whether you are transacting this year or not. That is what a trusted advisor means, and it is why most of my business arrives by referral.
Today I work across Toronto and the GTA, from first time buyers to some of the most significant luxury transactions in the region. And after twenty years in this business, I have planted my own family's roots in the neighbourhoods I know best: Etobicoke.
My family and I live steps from the golf course in Etobicoke, and for the first time in twenty years I have found the place where I truly want to grow roots. We walk these streets every day. I run through these neighbourhoods every week. When I tell you what a street feels like at 7 am, it is because I was there this morning.
